Research areas
Our research is focused on resource physics, especially concerning availability and production of fossil fuels, but also includes resource usage in society and socioeconomic development from a resource perspective. Peak Oil and related problems is a topic of major importance in our reseach.

2008-04-12: The group have now been renamed to Global Energy Systems and our new homepage can be found at http://www.fysast.uu.se/ges/. This homepage will not be updated anymore.2008-03-05: Fredrik Robelius doctoral thesis , about giant oil fields and peak oil, has now reached first position among the most downloaded abstracts and the fourth position of the most downloaded theses from Uppsala University of all time.
2008-01-11: Kjell Alekletts OECD-repports are now available from our publication section. A new project report, Energy system in the Loess Plateau - A case study of Changes during the rehabilitation period, by Kersti Johansson is also available.
2007-12-18: Presentation of the group is updated.
2007-11-05: A short essay about the great scientist Nikolai Tesla (in swedish) is now available from the section for popular science.
2007-10-09: A new diploma thesis from Aram Mäkivierikko on Russian Oil is available.
